Postmodernism and Wes Craven's Scream
When discussing the three fundamental styles of film, and postmodernism specifically, my mind immediately went to Wes craven's Scream. For those of you who have not seen it, Scream satirizes horror movie tropes, horror movie culture, violence culture in America, sensationalism etc. all while participating in those exact same ideas.

I think this clip from Scream is a great encapsulation of what I am talking about here. Here, two characters (Stu and Randy) are in a video store discussing some recent murders that have hit their town. In their conversation speculating on a suspect, they discuss several typical horror movie/serial killer tropes, even referring to the "formula" that comes with these types of movies. Unknowingly to Randy, Stu is revealed at the end to be one of the killers, making this conversation even more ironic.
